Born in DRC, Ghislain Yumba is a qualified mining engineer who began his career with Chemaf in 2003 and is currently one of its longest serving employees. Starting from the position of Operating Engineer at the Etoile mine, he was promoted to Mine Manager and subsequently, General Manager Mining and Business Development. In 2020, he became CSR and External Relations Director and General Secretary of Chemaf SA. Ghislain has more than 20 years of experience in Mining Engineering and Operations, with expertise ranging from pit designs, development and operation of copper and cobalt open pit mines to exploration activities, mining development projects and management of ESG impacts of mining operations and projects. Ghislain has a graduate degree in Applied Sciences of Mining and a B.Sc. Mining Engineering from Lubumbashi University.
